Tax Credits and Non-Public School Scholarships

There is currently an effort under way through the introduction of LB 50 to make available state tax credits to individuals or corporations who would chose to make a contribution to eligible Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO). These SGO's would utilize the funds collected to provide scholarships to students attending non-public schools in the State of Nebraska based on income eligibility.

A New Look for the Gym

There has been a flurry of activity in the Lincoln Lutheran gym over the past two weeks. Our Facility Supervisor Doug Wiemer has been working hard to paint walls, replace light bulbs, and perform other cleaning tasks in preparation for the 2010-11 basketball season. This year, there will be an additional key change taking place. By the time Grand Island Central Catholic comes to Lincoln to face the Warriors on December 2, the gym will enjoy two new scoreboards, a digital display board, and some new advertising panels.

Celebrating a Great Start!

As I sit down to write this quick note to our Warrior Family, I am truly humbled by the fact that we have exceeded our enrollment projections and are starting off the school year strong!  We currently have 382 full-time students on our campus.  I am also thoroughly excited to welcome five new teachers to our team!  We celebrate the outstanding teaching and support staff we have in place to serve the Lincoln Lutheran Family.

I hope to see you all at the Booster Bash on Friday beginning at 4:30 in the Main Gym.  What a great opportunity we have to celebrate that "WE ARE WARRIORS" in Christ - "One in Spirit and Purpose!"

Blessings on a truly great school year!

"It Takes A Village"

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”     –Romans 15:5-6

Grace and Peace to you from the Warrior Family! The school year is well underway! God is blessing us with a great start and outstanding students and families once again this year. I am excited to see how God is going to use this year to remind us how brightly His Light shines through Jesus and of our opportunity to “Let His Light Shine” in all we do.
Please consider the following food for thought! Did you know the 2007-08 average cost per student for public schools in the state of Nebraska was over $10,000? Did you know full-time child care currently ranges from $7,000-$10,000 per child, per year? Did you know this year the average cost per student at Lincoln Lutheran for 2009-10 is just over $6,500? Did you know family tuition income and church support for students at Lincoln Lutheran is just over $5,500? Did you know the Lincoln Lutheran Ministry needs support of approximately $1,000 per student to offer a quality education to students this year?

First Annual Fund Drive off to a Great Start!

Where is your treasure? “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will be also.” Matthew 6:21.

You may have seen this phrase in newsletters or your church bulletin lately. Maybe you received a brochure in the mail and wondered “What is an Annual Fund drive and why does Lincoln Lutheran need one?”

“An annual fund initiative provides the cornerstone for the majority of non-profit organizations, including parochial school ministries,” shared Scott Ernstmeyer - Lincoln Lutheran’s Executive Director. “Our goal is to keep tuition increases to a minimum while providing an outstanding education to our students. Growing our annual support for the school in this fashion allows us reach out to more young people in the community!”
