Student Opportunities

  • Lincoln Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training program.  Lincoln Electrical offers several different "Earn-While-You-Learn" opportunities for students interested in the electrical industry or a career as a skilled electrician.  Students must be 17 years old to apply and 18 to enter the program.  Must be a high school graduate.  For more information about these apprenticeship programs go to: 

  • Bryan College of Health Sciences summer camps.  Bryan College of Health Sciences is offering two camps this summer focused on you and your interests in healthcare.  These camps offer a hands-on opportunities to check out your options.  Find more information and register at:

  • Southeast Community College Automotive Summer Camp.  Automotive Technicians are in high demand and job growth looks strong into the foreseeable future! Southeast Community College is offering a summer camp to give students a glimpse into this exciting career field.  The camp will take place on June 8 & 9 on SCC's Milford Campus.  The cost is $29 per participant.  This includes tools, meals, housing and transportation to a special activity.  Participants must be 16 years of age.  Registration deadline is June 1, 2018 and this camp is limited to 60 participants.  Registrations will be entered in the order they are received.  Download flyer and registration and dorm forms by clicking the "SCC Automotive Summer Camp" links at the bottom of this page.  

  • Vet Camp Assistant. Oxbow Animal Health is current looking for individuals to assist in their summer educational Youth Veterinarian Camps as a camp assistant.  Assistants will be responsible for supporting camp counselors and the Camp Director in all aspects of the week-long camps and will have direct interaction with children ages 8-14.  To apply for this volunteer position, send your qualifications, availability and statement of interest to:  Download flyer with more details by clicking "Vet Camp" link at the bottom of this page. 

  • 2017 Natural Resource Camp (South Dakota State University).   The Department of Natural Resource Management at SDSU is hosting a camp at Oak Lake Field Station near Astoria, SD on July 10-14, 2017.  The Natural Resource Camp is a great way to gain exposure to the world of natural resources, including fish, plants, wildlife, soils, invertebrates, and water.  The camp offers opportunities to gain hands-on experiences in natural resource ecology and management.  The camp is intended for high school students, entering grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, who have a strong desire to learn more about the natural world or who have an interest in pursuing a career related to natural resources.  The cost of the camp is $275 and this includes meals, housing and a camp t-shirt.  Space is limited.  Registration deadline is May 26, 2017.  For more details go to:
