High School Boys Soccer
Psalm 34:3 (NIV) "Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together." In 2007 the Lincoln Lutheran Boys Varsity soccer team earned its fourth straight district title and 7th total in 11 years. This amazing run speaks volumes of the leadership, intensity and passion of the players as they continually prepare, play and succeed at the highest level of Class B competition. Compiling a 15-3 record in 2007, the boys look to keep the tradition of excellence moving forward in 2008. To date, Lutheran Boys soccer has compiled a career record of 135-30 (.818 win %), had 17 players named to All-City teams, 17 players named to LJS Class B All-State teams (2 super state and 22 honorable mentions), and 25 players go on to play soccer at the college level. All of these blessings have come from dedication, hard work and a team spirit that encourages each player to do their part to help the team be a success. The upcoming season of 2008 will be another exciting year as the boys return key players in Jesse Heibel, Matt Brink, Tyler Groskurth, Walker Agee, Jeremiah Majorins, and Chris Soenksen. Numerous other returning players will help round out the varsity squad while new players will always be called upon to learn the game and contribute whenever and however they can. Final mention should be made for the outstanding coaches that Lincoln Lutheran has had over the past four years of its program. Without the selfless leadership and coaching of Craig Buss, Ken Siegman, and Paul Synhorst the program would not have been as successful. Their love of Lutheran education, the game of soccer and their desire to see young men be successful has been a blessing to the program. News & Announcementsfinal score: warriors 0 pius x 1The warriors held Pius scoreless through the rain with two minutes left. A penalty shot snuck past Heibel, who otherwise kept Pius off the board.
