Chorale
Chorale is a music elective offered to students in grades 9-12. Members meet one period per day to prepare music for on and off campus performances. Chorale rehearsals are devoted to the development of choral ensemble techniques and individual voices. Annual on campus performances include the Fall Sampler, Christmas and Spring Concerts, as well as Graduation. Chorale students share their talents and witness their faith off campus by providing service music at least once during the school year for each of Lincoln Lutheran's association churches. As a "fun fundraiser" we delivered over thirty Singing Valentines to locations all over Lincoln. These funds helped support a choir/band tour to Dallas, TX which included performances, a choral clinic, and numerous exciting activities! At the annual District Music Competition, the LLHS Chorale earned a superior rating, continuing a long standing tradition. Trevor Bohlender, Bobby Brown, Kelly Bate, Kaitlin Heibel and Olivia Oeting each received a superior rating on their solos. Members of the Chorale are encouraged to develop their individual talents in several ways. A number of students auditioned for All State and college honor choirs. One student was selected for All State, and several for Concordia University's Honor Choir. Five students represented LLHS at the Conference Music Choir Event (Clarissa Hellerich, Olivia Oetting, Trevor Bohlender, Derek Guenther and Harley Allen), which will be hosted by Lincoln Lutheran in March 2008. A men's ensemble and five vocal soloists (Trevor Bohlender, Bobby Brown, Kellie Bate, Kaitlin Heibel and Olivia Oetting) were also awarded superior ratings at District Music and Trevor Bohlender made All-State. We enthusiastically look forward to each new school year with a desire to "Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things!"
