Your fellow alumni are interested in, and want to know about, your accomplishments and other noteworthy items. Photos are welcome if tiff or jpeg format, 300 dpi resolution preferred. Hard copies are fine too, and will be returned. La Vonne Carol (Hudson) Uffelman '64La Vonne earned her BS from UNL in 1972 and her MPE from UNL in 1978. She completed her second Master’s Degree in Health Education in 1992. She was employed by Lincoln Public Schools for 33 years as a Health & Physical Educator and retired in 2004. She is married to Jean A. Uffelman and they have two daughters, Amber Uffelman Gillespie and Ashley Uffelman.
Nancy (Lohrberg) Petrie '67Nancy continued her education at Lincoln Southeast after LLJHS and then to Concordia-Seward. She was an educator in Lutheran and public schools in Nebraska, California, Colorado, and Oregon. She was married June 2, 2006 to David Petrie. They juggle time between residences in Fullerton, CA, where Dave is a professor of Business at CSU Fullerton, and Beaverton, OR, where Nancy serves as a Thrivent Financial associate. Two sons live in Oregon; Jason Drews (with wife Amy and son Carson) and Nathan Drews. Daughter Julie Schneider resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Aaron.
Susan (Schroeder) Seacrest '68Susan graduated from LSE in 1971, St.Olaf College in 1975 (B.A. English) and the University of Rochester in 1979 (MS Ed. In Education). She married Gary Seacrest in 1975. They have three children Logan (25), Tyler (23) and Kelly (21). She started the Groundwater Foundation in 1985 and continues to work towards the mission of educating people about the nature & value of groundwater resources.
Rita (Bartels) Devine '74Rita is in her 20th year of teaching chemistry and upper level math and science at Lutheran High School - Springfield, Illinois. Rita and Patrick Devine have been married for 25 years and have 3 children, Angela, who is working on her Master’s at the London University School of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases; Nathan, who is a Senior Nuclear Engineering major at the University of Missouri-Rolla; and David, who is a Freshman Accounting and Business major at the University of Evansville.
John Lohrberg '71John is currently a Family Physician in Omaha, working for Methodist Physicians Clinic. He and his wife, Amy Peck have three kids ages 9, 12 and 15. Bill Lohrberg '77Bill lives in Lincoln with his wife Mary Person and their two children, Lee (age 17) and Katherine (age 12). He works in Professional Audio and is a part-time musician.
Tom Grasmick '73Since graduating from SCC, Tom has been a designer at John Deere in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He encourages all of his friends to email him at thomasgr@cfu.net to reminisce about all the fun times they shared.
Amy (Lohrberg) Seiler '80Amy lives in Lincoln and is married to Jim Seiler. They have a daughter Micheala Patt (age 15) and a stepson Jay Seiler (age 28).
Andrea (Roeber) Veleba '85Andrea graduated from Raymond Central High School and received her Bachelors of Music Education Degree from Hastings College. She taught for several years in the Hastings area before marrying Neal Veleba. Together they live in Pawnee City with their third grade son, Thomas. Andrea works at his school in Pawnee City as the band instructor for grades 4-12. Neal works at Beatrice Iron and Metal. She can be reached at aveleba@esu6.org.
Tina (Lofgren) Smith '83Tina received her Master’s Degree at Doane College and is currently a Midwest Region Sales Manager for Unitrin Insurance. She was married to David Smith in Feb. 2007 and she has a step-son, Zach Smith. They currently reside in Watertown, South Dakota.
Sarah (Goldhammer) Block '87Sarah is currently living in the Denver, CO area. She is married and has two boys, ages 4 ½ and 2. She has been an RN for almost 10 years, working in the ER and also with Forensic Nursing, treating victims of sexual crimes. Her husband is a math teacher & athletic director for Denver Lutheran HS of the Rockies.
Katie (Taege) Baumann '99Christa Dunker '99Christa recently started her last year at Concordia-Seward and will be student teaching in the Spring. Christa will graduate in May with a degree in Secondary Education, with an emphasis in Speech/Theatre and English. She has a 5 year old son, Evan Dunker, who attends preschool at Messiah Lutheran School.Evan and Christa live in Lincoln.
Gretchen (Bartels) Hagge '98Gretchen recently became the mathematics department chair for Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is her 4th year of teaching at Faith and her department consists of nine teachers, whom she supervises.
Kim (Asche) Luttringer '99 Kim married Ryan Luttringer in 2003 and has three children, Peyton (Age 5), Riley (Age 2) and Kalli (Age 7 months). They recently moved from Ceresco, Nebraska to an acreage in Elizabeth, Colorado. Kim previously worked as a representative for PayPal in Omaha and is currently a stay at home mom with a small online business. Ryan is a retail investigator for Kroger.Libby Fischer '06Libby was named to the Dean’s List of the St. Louis University College of Arts and Sciences for both the fall and spring of the 2006-07 school year with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. Libby is currently a sophomore at St. Louis University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish.
Matthew Bliemeister '04Matthew and Michelle Fayman were united in marriage May 19, 2007. Matthew is a Senior at Concordia University, Seward pursuing his Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma. He will graduate with a degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Social Sciences. Michelle is employed with St. Elizabeth’s Health Network as a Medical Records Clerk. Matt and Michelle will make their home in Lincoln until Matt receives his first call to serve in a Lutheran School.
