The Middle School goes to Narnia!

On Wednesday the 15th, just a week before the long awaited Christmas break, the middle schoolers get a field trip! Students are going to enter the wardrobe, the wardrobe to the magical land of Narnia, that is. To cap off an introductory lesson to CS Lewis’s Narnain series, the kids will visit East Park Theater to watch The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Freshmen Tabernacles

The freshmen religion classes have been hard at work building Tabernacle models this past week. As a part of their study of the book of Exodus, each group of 2 or 3 students has been tasked with building a scale model of the Old Testament Tabernacle, complete with the various altars and fixtures as described in the book of Exodus. In addition to the model, students are to create a “tour brochure” to explain the importance and function of each piece in the Tabernacle.

Romanian Outreach

Mrs. Olp's 8th grade religion class will be collecting baby supplies for a ROCK (Romanian Outreach to Christ's Kids) Ministries in Bucharest, Romania. They will also be collecting money to fund the shipping costs of the boxes of supplies. ROCK works to help all of the orphaned children of Romania, many of whom are Roma, or Gypsy children with parents as young as 13 or 14 who cannot care for their children. Hospitals become orphanages and as long as the parents visit every six months, the child cannot be put up for adoption.

Tuesday , 9/13 Chapel

The message of the chapel was about letting your light shine so bright that people automatically know that you are a Christian. It was a fun, high intesity chapel as Rev. Koch stopped the songs a couple of times to make the piano player speed up. Rev. Koch wanted the energy up, because we witness through our actions not just our words. Our actions are always visible and it is important that we do everything in the glory of Christ.
