Middle School Volleyball Has Ended

Volleyball has ended for the Lincoln Lutheran volleyball teams on Monday evening.  The C1 team played North American Martyrs at St. Peters and lost both set.  It was the best game of their season.  All of the skills that had been worked on during the season presented themselves on the court.  The C1 players took the court with only five players and were able to execute the offense well.  In this offense we utilized three different setters and four hitters, three front row players and only two to cover the back of the court.  I am so proud of these girls who quickly learned how to run an offense while they were on the court.

The C2 team played St. Joseph at St. Joseph's gym and also lost in two sets, but in the heart and mind of their coach Jody Christensen, they were the winners of the game.  They moved their feet well and got to alot of balls that came over at them.  They have improved tremendously since the first game and hung in there with the undefeated St. Joseph's team.

Results From Archbishop Bergan Games

Last night was a late night for the Warrior Volleyball teams who played at Fremont Bergan.  Overall, it turned out to be a very successful evening.  The Reserve and JV teams came away with a victory.  The Reserve won in two sets and JV won in three.  Great job ladies.

The Varsity team played the best match of their season thus far.  They did not win, but they played their hearts out and took Bergan to 5 intense sets.  (25-22, 22-25, 25-13, 17-25, 13-15). Terrific job Warriors.  Stat leaders:  Dudycha 19 kills and 4 ace blocks, Metschke 14 kills and 3 ace serves, Brozek 38 assists and 4 ace serves, Hybl 24 digs, Pomerenke 14 digs.

The Varsity girls compete in the Centennial Tourney this Saturday.  The first match is at 10:15 a.m. at the old school in Utica.   Hope to see you there!

Lady Warriors Battle Until the End

If you ask one of the Lincoln Lutheran varsity volleyball players if they were ready to play Thursday night, they would all answer with an excited "YES!!".  The Lady Warriors sought revenge against the Lady Knights after losing a close match to them in the Centennial Conference tournament Saturday.  The focus of the Lady Warriors for the game Thursday was to minimize unforced errors.  The Warriors started the first set with high intensity.  After forcing the Lady Knights to make errors and emphasizing the strengths of the Warriors, Lincoln Lutheran defeated Fremont Bergan 25-22.
