Angel Tree/Locker Wrapping

There are two ways you can help others during the Advent Season. The Student Council has two projects going on until December 19: Angel Tree & Locker Wrapping. Click "View" for more information.

Food Drive

Thanks for all of the donations for our annual Food Drive!  We exceeded the total amount from last year, and we were able to drop off 1567 pounds of food to the Lincoln Food Bank yesterday, which is an average of 4.89 pounds per student. Prizes will be given to Mrs. Troyer's AP and Mr. Sommerer's Tech Crew, for having the most pounds per student, and to Mr. Deeter's AP, for the best sculpture, although there were a lot of good ones! Thank you again for your generosity - your donations will be a huge blessing to many families in southeast Nebraska.

Giving Thanks with Thankful Turkeys

The Student Council continued their November tradition of selling "Thankful Turkeys" from November 6-20.  Those who participated purchased a paper turkey for $1, and then wrote things for which they are thankful on them, so they could be added to the display in the East Entrance of the school.  This year, the project was designated to benefit the People's City Mission.

Student Council Members

Thank you to all of you who chose to run for next year's Student Council.  It is encouraging to see so many people who wish to be involved in developing leadership skills and service to their school and community.  While only four will represent each class, hopefully you all know you have opportunity to lead each day in your words and actions, following the example set for you by Christ. Here are the results for the 2017-2018 Student Council:

Freshman class: Derek Brockhaus, Addi Ernstmeyer, Christa Grimpo, Matthew Lavicky

A total of 47 units of blood were collected on that date, which has the potential to save 141 lives.  A scholarship for $250 will also be available to a graduating senior.  Thanks to all volunteers, those who donated, and the office and teachers for their support of this important effort.
