Bach & Vivaldi

The City of Lincoln Lutheran Choir is performing Bach's Magnificat and Vivaldi's Gloria this Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church (1 block south of 23 & A). The concert is free and starts at 7:00pm. Bring your Mom.

Mr. Sommerer and Miss Mol are just two of the many Lincoln Lutheran teachers, students, parents and alumni who have sung with the choir since it began in 1978.

14th Annual Mens Church Team Basketball Tournament

This year’s church team basketball tournament was once again a great success as 14 teams and almost 120 Lincoln area men participated.  The weekend was filled with brotherly competition, great fellowship, food-n-fun, exhilarating thrills, and even a few spills!  After the dust all settled Sunday afternoon two teams emerged as the 2010 champions.  In the Classic Division (age 31 & over), the men from Christ Lutheran were once again the title-winners as they defeated Holy Savior-Redeemer in the championship game.  In the Open Division, Trinity-Messiah avenged a loss to Messiah-Redeemer in the teams’ first game of the tournament by claiming a 2-pt victory in the championship game.  For those who follow this tournament the open division championship game continues a long-standing epic church team tournament battle between these two teams.  Worth noting, however, is that both of these teams were greatly challenged to reach the championship g

40 Days of Life Lenten Prayer Vigil

Are you looking to do something pro-active AND pro-life for lent?  Please feel encouraged to join the 40 Days for Life Lenten Prayer Vigil.

WHERE:  Planned Parenthood facility @ 37th and South Street

WHEN:  Starts midnight February 16th and ends midnight April 3rd.

WHAT:  Simply come a pray ANYTIME it is convenient & for ANY LENGTH of time.  The house next to Planned Parenthood is owned by Lincoln Right to Life.  You are welcome to use their property for prayer & meditation.  You may kneel, stand, or walk around.  Please feel invited to enjoy the magnificent outdoor stations of the cross in the backyard of the Lincoln Right to Life property.  If inclement weather, feel free to stay in your heated car.

This test will be beneficial to all students and all Juniors are encouraged to take it. Blank has recommended that Juniors take the ACT ON  April 10th. They must be registered by MARCH 5TH. PRESENTLY WE HAVE ASSIGNED JOHN BAYLOR TO ROOM 00.

Spring Driver's Ed Classes

 

SPRING DRIVER’S ED…..Classes for the spring session of Driver’s Ed will begin Tuesday, April 6, with Mr. John Bailey as the class instructor.  Fee will be $265.  Must have a valid learner’s permit, 100% attendance, and a little driving experience would be nice.  NO TARDIES.  You will receive 25 hrs. of classroom instruction from 6:55 am. – 7:55 am. each day (approx. 3 weeks), and 3-5 hours of behind the wheel driving (which will be scheduled individually according to class schedules). Fee will be due the first day of classes. Make checks payable to “All-Metro Driving School.  Forms are available in the office. A sign-up sheet will be on the front desk. We need at least 12 or more to have a class.   

 

Influenza Immunization Clinic

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department is holding a special H1N1 Influenza Immunization Clinic for school-aged children.  This is an opportunity for your students to obtain the H1N1 vaccine at no cost. 

The H1N1 Influenza vaccine will continue to be available through our Department, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM throughout the Christmas break, giving parents additional opportunities to obtain the vaccine for their children.  Parents should call 441-6262 to make an appointment.  Again, there is no cost for this service.
