Middle School Fun Night

It's getting closer to our second Middle School Fun Night, and we would like to thank everyone who helps make these nights successful and also to say thank you to everyone who has expressed their appreciation for the fun nights. This year, our first Fun Night is January 14th,  and we want to bring a few items to your attention:

An Awesome Fun Night of the Year

The middle school's second fun night of this year was March 5. There were many middle school students that were very excited. All the esentials for a great fun night were there: the music, snacks, high school helpers, dodgeball setup, music and of course, the excited middle school students. The middle school will have their final fun night of the year on April 23rd.

Senior Lydia Pomerenke volunteered to help at the fun night. She said, "It was the best one ever!" Lydia thought this fun night's music was really good and that a lot of middle school students were dancing. Eighth grader Grant Doak said he really enjoyed going to the fun night. Grant and eighth grader Taylor Pate both thought the music selection was too old and they also wished there could be more variety in snacks. Not all eighth graders thought the same about the music, though.  Eight h grader Mckensie Oneth thought the music was lovely.

There are some middle schoolers that would make some changes to the fun nights, but overall they all love them and enjoy attending.

Second Fun Night coming up soon

It's getting closer to our second Middle School Fun Night, and we would like to thank everyone who helps make these nights successful and also to say thank you to everyone who has expressed their appreciation for the fun nights. This year, our second Fun Night is march 5th:

  1. Fun night will start at 6:30pm and end at 10:00pm. Parents can, of course, pick their children up early as needed. You might see references to 6:00 - 10:30 occationally; these are the times are for the people running Fun Night, not the middle school students.
  2. We will be serving pizza. We know how busy a Friday night can be; if you're pressed for time, you don't have to cook before you drop off your middle school student. Students will receive enough tickets so that they can "purchase" 2-3 pieces of pizza without buying any additional tickets. Additional tickets are $0.25 each, and a slice of pizza will cost 3 tickets.
  3. The admission charge will once again be $10.00 per student if you signup in advance and $20.00 if you pay at the door.
  4. We'll be making some effort to ensure that the two "biggest" attractions of fun night (the dance and the dodgeball tournament) are not mutually exclusive. The dodgeball tournament will begin at 6:30 and run until approximately 9:00. The dance will start at approximately 7:00 and run until 10:00. Overheard at a 2007 fun night, "There's no one to dance with! All our men are playing dodgeball."
