On Your Mark, Get Set, Tee Off!!!!

Join the Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School family on Friday, June 4th for our 15th Annual “Fore For Youth” Golf Classic. The event will take place at Yankee Hill Country Club and participants are encouraged to arrive at 10:30am to check-in. A putting challenge and chipping contest will start the day off at 10:30am to 11:30am. A scrumptious meal of hamburgers and hot dogs will be served from 11:00 until 11:45am. The shotgun start will begin promptly at 12:00pm and the fun will only continue from there! The day will close at 5:30pm with appetizers and a short awards banquet. We encourage everyone to participate or cheer on their fellow comrades and enjoy a nice day of fellowship and entertainment.

Award Winners Impacting Lives

Examples of service to others were in large supply at Lincoln Lutheran’s “Coming Home” Celebration Event on Friday, October 2. Over 75 attendees gathered to celebrate the school’s ministry of impacting students and the community for nearly 50 years. The Lincoln Lutheran ministry began as a 7-9 grade junior high school in 1962. Today the school serves nearly 400 students in grades 6-12.

 Randy Klein, Lincoln Lutheran’s 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner, has been serving his church and the community through various ministries since the mid-1970’s. The award is given annually to individuals who, through their service to the community and/or church, exemplify Lincoln Lutheran’s mission to prepare young people to serve Christ. As a member of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High School Class of 1963, Randy was a student in the first 9th grade class to attend school at its current campus on North 56th Street.
 
“I remember helping Mr. Petri chart a bus route to pick students up for school. I also had the privilege of serving on a committee to select the school’s mascot and colors,” shares Randy.

Grace and Peace to you from the Warrior Family! The school year is well underway! God is blessing us with a great start and outstanding students and families once again this year. I am excited to see how God is going to use this year to remind us how brightly His Light shines through Jesus and of our opportunity to “Let His Light Shine” in all we do.
 
Please consider the following food for thought! Did you know the 2007-08 average cost per student for public schools in the state of Nebraska was over $10,000? Did you know full-time child care currently ranges from $7,000-$10,000 per child, per year? Did you know this year the average cost per student at Lincoln Lutheran for 2009-10 is just over $6,500? Did you know family tuition income and church support for students at Lincoln Lutheran is just over $5,500? Did you know the Lincoln Lutheran Ministry needs support of approximately $1,000 per student to offer a quality education to students this year?

First Annual Fund Drive off to a Great Start!

Where is your treasure? “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will be also.” Matthew 6:21.

You may have seen this phrase in newsletters or your church bulletin lately. Maybe you received a brochure in the mail and wondered “What is an Annual Fund drive and why does Lincoln Lutheran need one?”

“An annual fund initiative provides the cornerstone for the majority of non-profit organizations, including parochial school ministries,” shared Scott Ernstmeyer - Lincoln Lutheran’s Executive Director. “Our goal is to keep tuition increases to a minimum while providing an outstanding education to our students. Growing our annual support for the school in this fashion allows us reach out to more young people in the community!”
