Mrs. Lindsey Kowalke

Lindsey Kowalke began teaching at Lincoln Lutheran in the fall of 2007. She taught English and religion in the middle school, but has recently gone to part time as Lincoln Lutheran's media specialist.  Outside of school, she enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Kowalke grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was the youngest of four children.  In her youth she participated in dance for 20 years, played basketball and volleyball, played piano, and sang. She attended Trinity Lutheran and Lincoln Lutheran, then graduated from Southeast High School in 1995. After high school, she attended UNL where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education and her Master of Secondary Teaching. Prior to coming to Lincoln Lutheran, Mrs. Kowalke taught at Garside Junior High School in Las Vegas, Nevada; Canarelli Middle School in Las Vegas, Nevada; and St. John’s Lutheran in Orange, California. She has been married for ten years to her husband Mike, who is a chiropractor in Lincoln. They are the proud parents of their one-year old daughter, Chandlar. Mrs. Kowalke came to Lincoln Lutheran because she wanted to continue teaching in a Lutheran School. Her favorite thing about serving here is that it feels like home because she can talk about Jesus freely and also because she attended here.
