Students will gain skill in constructing pinch, coil, slab, and thrown ceramic forms. Students will learn related vocabulary and the entire process for working with clay from recycling clay to firing glazed ceramic forms. Students will explore the history of pottery as both functional and aesthetic and explore contemporary works in clay. Students will experiment with mold making techniques. Emphasis will be placed on craftsmanship and technique.
