This course is designed to assist the student in making Godly, responsible, lifetime health and wellness decisions. Healthful living through preventative methods will be stressed. Units covered will include the following: Human Development – pregnancy & birth; Community Health & Safety – choosing health care, the public health care system, global health, and preventing injuries; Social Health – violence prevention including domestic violence and rape, relationships and abstinence; Preventing Disease – STI’s, HIV, and AIDS, chronic diseases and disabilities; Substance Abuse – preventing drug abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
