Mrs. Sarah Heislen

Sarah Heislen is currently serving her first year as Principal at Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School. She graduated from Concordia University in Seward and received both her Bachelor’s and Masters degrees from there. Before becoming the principal here, she served at Faith Lutheran Jr./Sr. High School in Las Vegas, Nevada for 10 years from 1995-1999 and then again from 2001-2007. She served as a teacher, volleyball coach, Dean of Students and eventually she became the Middle School Principal. From 1999-2001 she served at Dallas Lutheran School in Texas as a teacher, volleyball coach and assistant principal. She grew up in Fairbury, Nebraska and graduated from high school in 1990. She has one older brother and a younger sister, who is currently a senior at Fairbury High School. Her mom is a teacher and her father owns his own business. Almost her entire family lives in Fairbury. She has been married to Charlie Heislen for 13 years and they have two children, Clara and Lydia, who are seven and three respectively. Both of her daughters currently go to Faith Lutheran and the whole family loves to spend time together by going on vacations. She decided to come to Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School because she believes “The Lord has called me to be a part of this ministry [and] also brought me to a place where my children could be close to their extended family.” Aside from teaching, she enjoys coaching volleyball (which she unfortunately no longer has time to do), taking students on educational trips to Washington D.C., and she started a Peer Ministry program while she served at her previous school. She enjoys working at Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School because of the kids. In her free time she LOVES to shop. She also loves spending time with her children, but doesn’t mind being completely alone. With her family, she enjoys eating together and playing cards.
