Mr. Sean Wieting

Mr. Wieting began teaching at Lincoln Lutheran in 2010. Before coming to Lincoln Lutheran, he was the majority owner of two restaurant franchises in Lincoln and in Omaha. After beginning as an individual franchise operator, he began working for the restaurant’s corporate office based out of Scottsdale, AZ. Although his residence remained in Lincoln, part of his job entailed traveling across the country and to Arizona each month. Through this rigorous travel schedule and other God prescribed circumstances, he quickly realized that God was calling him to switch careers to spend more time with his family and make a greater impact in the lives of children. So, he went back to school for his master’s degree in elementary education in the spring of 2009 completing this degree in 2010.

Mr. Wieting grew up in the Portland, OR area where his older brother, sister-in-law, and parents still live. He came to University of Nebraska - Lincoln to play football for the Huskers and earned his bachelor’s degree in business in December of 1997. Mr. Wieting and his wife Arica were married in 2003. They are parents of an energetic son, Avery, born in August of 2005, gymnastics strong daughter, Alix, born in April 2009, and fun-loving daughter, Aliya, born in 2013. Mr. Wieting loves being able to share with others the good news of Christ. Having the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life everyday at Lincoln Lutheran has been nothing short of a true blessing from God. He also enjoys coaching football at Lincoln Lutheran and more importantly, building relationships in Christ with all of his football players, coaches, and students. When he’s not at school, you will find Mr. Wieting playing with his children, enjoying time with family and friends, and spending time as youth leader at Word of Life Lutheran Church.
