High School Girls Basketball

The Lincoln Lutheran Girls Basketball program begins a new era with the retirement of Rich Olsen and the hiring of Allen Simpson as the new Girls Head Coach. Coach Simpson has been LL’s Varsity Assistant Coach for the past two seasons; he also previously coached at Lincoln North Star and Nebraska Wesleyan University. The Warriors welcome two new coaches to the program in Kerri Strizek who will be the Varsity Assistant Coach and Kelli Rice who will coach the Freshman/Reserve team. Bill Richt will return for his second year to coach the Junior Varsity.

The Warriors lost four talented seniors who had a major contribution on the 15 games won last season. They return one starter in 6’4” Gretchen Moll and a number of other players with varsity experience. Coach Simpson said the girls exceeded his expectations during summer workouts and camps and he looks forward to the upcoming season.
