Christmas Servant Event

Lincoln Lutheran is very excited to have the opportunity each year for their Middle School students to serve the Lincoln Community. This will be the 4th Annual Middle School service event and will take place on Wednesday, December 22. The 6-8th graders will be traveling off-campus to help organizations that serve people in need. Students will work in groups at the following organizations:

  • Holmes Lake Manor (6101 Normal Blvd.)
  • Waverly Care Center (11041 N 137th St., Waverly, NE)
  • People’s City Mission (2101 N Street)
  • Cedars Youth Services Northbridge Community Center (1533 N. 27th Street)
  • Northeast Family Center (6220 Logan Avenue)
  • Capital Humane Society (2320 Park Blvd.)
  • Mad Dads (5610 Seward Ave.)
  • Good Neighbor Community Center (2617 Y Street)

Lincoln Lutheran’s 2010/2011 school theme is “One in Spirit and Purpose” based on Philippians 2:1-2.

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ,
if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit,
if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete
by being like-minded, having the same love, and being one in spirit and purpose.”

Research has shown that when teens take part in community service it has positive effects. More importantly, it gives our students a change to express their faith out in the community and make a difference in someone else’s life. Helping others is just one way our students can stand “One in Spirit and Purpose.”

Through a generous grant from Wells Fargo, we are able to expand our service event to reach more people in need. Lincoln Lutheran would like to thank Wells Fargo for their generosity and support of this important day for our middle school students.
