2013 Distinguished Alumni Award - Stacy Leimbach

Stacy Leimbach

Our 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award winner is Stacy Leimbach; a Lincoln native and 1989 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High. Stacy went on to attend Concordia University-Nebraska receiving her degree in Elementary Education. She is currently teaching Kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School-Lincoln Nebraska. Stacy is also a part of the Warrior volleyball coaching staff, drawing upon her years of experience as a Hall of Fame setter at CUNE. Stacy has served as a teacher for 12 years and has coached volleyball for 10 years.

Stacy is the daughter of the late Lauren and Chris Stuckenschmidt. Her brother Matt and sister-in-law Julie live in Lincoln. Her sister Alicia and brother-in-law Jerrid make their home in Colorado.

Stacy stated that her education at Lincoln Lutheran helped prepare her for life in the following ways:

“The years I spent at Lincoln Lutheran were critical in my continued development and maintenance of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. My teachers, coaches, and classmates surrounded me with God’s love. I display His love daily to my students.”

When asked what some of her favorite memories from Lincoln Lutheran were, Stacy stated: “Mr. Roeber throwing chalk at me for talking in Algebra class. Awesome basketball coaches like Mr. Duitsman and Mr. Leckband. All of the times we BEAT Lincoln Christian.”When asked what advice she would provide for current Lincoln Lutheran students, Stacy replied:  “ Allow the Lincoln Lutheran community to encourage you, embrace you, and prepare you! Always remember to wrap your heart and mind around the greatest teacher of all-Jesus Christ.”

Stacy and her husband Jason make their home in Lincoln. They have been married 16 years and have three daughters. Hope is a seventh grader at Lincoln Lutheran. Kate is a fourth grader at Trinity Lutheran School where their youngest daughter Keri is in first grade.
