Jazz Band to perform at Savannah Pines

On February 3, 2011 the Lincoln Lutheran Jazz band will be performing at the Savannah Pines Adult Community at 6:00 pm. This is the band's first performance of the year and they are excited to play. The director, Mr. Scott Morris, wants people to know that "There are going to be some good solos!"

The performance will be all jazz music. "Red Clay" and "Uptown Stomp" are just a couple pieces Mr. Morris is especially excited for. '"Red Clay" is a jazz tune from the 70's that incorporates a unique groove from the rhythm section players and 'Uptown Stomp' is an up tempo swing tune reminiscent of 40's swing dancing." The band is looking forward to playing tunes that are familiar to the audience.

Anyone can come and watch this performance. It will be held at 6:00 in the theatre of Savannah Pines Adult Community at 3900 Pine Lake Road. The band is sure to put on a great show!

Some upcoming music department events are Singing Valentines and this Sunday, January 30, the choir will be singing at Messiah Lutheran Church at the 8:00 and 10:30 services.
