Mr. Bassett Awarded Fellowship

"Fund for Teachers" has awarded Mr. Nathan Bassett, Social Studies and Religion teacher at L.L., $5000 to cover travel and other expenses this summer for a trip to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Boston to study colonial and revolutionary era history.

A primary goal in this trip is to obtain ideas for creating a "living history exhibit" with students in his U.S. History class.  This living history exhibit is focused on students recreating life in colonial and/or revolutionary America through re-enactment.  Mr. Bassett is looking forward to making contacts with various education experts in these three cities.

Mr. Bassett's trip will take place in June of 2011.  He will spend most of his time in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York, but will travel through 15 states in total.

Congratulations Mr. Bassett!  Have a great trip!
