The Golf Team Represent at State

The scene opens up in Columbus, at Quail Run golf course. On October 10th the Lincoln Lutheran girls golf tee off. The 5 girls qualified as a team with senior Kelsey West holding her own and qualifying individually. First off the tee box was junior Kaelin McDonald, who wound up and whacked that ball right of the tee. Next to tee up was sophomore Amanda Loseke. She is only in her second year of golf. The team is so proud of her. Cassie Trumbley teed off around 10:30, with a great shot and a smile. Finally to go were the seniors. First Kristen Garbe, started a little rocky, but she pushed through and finished the day with a 106. Kelsey West rounds off the team, lucky to tee off last at 11:30, she finished 18 holes in about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

After the first day, the girls were all tired and they were ready to go home, but no! There were still another 18 holes to play on Tuesday the 11th. The team teed off at about the same time the second day and they were ready to go. Throughout the day, the parents who came to watch said how amazed they were at the length of the course and how worn out they were getting. On the last hole of the day and the whole season, Garbe drove straight down the fairway, missing both hazards. Her second hit aroused the crowd as it landed 2 feet from the pin. With a smile on her face and a cheer from her team, Kristen finished the year with a birdie. Way to go on the great finish to an even better season, girls! Even though the team finished in last place they were proud of their accomplishment. They made it to State!
