Do you Hear What I Hear?

by Cassie Trumbley
It’s that time a year again! It’s Christmas time! Do you hear what I hear? Do you see what I see? I hear cheerful kids and I see friendly smiles this holiday season because the Lincoln Lutheran Middle School Access classes are going off into the community to give their time to families that need their help. Our students are donating their time to help serve those people that need a little boost during the holidays.

A few places they will go are MAD DADS, Cedars, the People's City Mission, and the Humane Society. At MAD DADS, they fix bikes to give to kids who cannot afford to buy one and also encourage kids to come and hang out in a drug free and safe environment. At Cedars they interact with the elderly and sing songs to them. At the People's City Mission they collect food and clothes and separate them for people to come and get what they need. At the Humane Society they clean out and take care of some animal cages and clean up the building to make it look nicer.

Some of those little things that the middle school kids do in the community put smiles on many adults and children’s faces all around Lincoln. This is just one way to spread God's good news of the birth of Jesus and a little Christmas cheer.
