Lady Warrior Soccer Team Off to a 3-0 Start

On Saturday March 17th, 2012 the Lincoln Lutheran Lady Warriors played in the York Tournament.  The first game was between the Warriors and Beatrice. Senior Kelly Sanchez scored a goal off of a header and a beautiful assist by sophomore Payton Hedlund.  Senior Sara Mach scored a goal for the Warriors while falling to the ground; an amazing sight to see.  Senior Miriam Gustad also scored a goal for the Lady Warriors.  The final score of the Beatrice game was 4-0, the first win of the year for the Warriors.

After a short break the Lady Warriors then played York in the championship game.  Senior Sara Mach scored two goals during this game.  Gustad scored another goal, along with Sanchez.  In the end, the Warriors won with a score again of 4-0, bringing home the York Tournament Championship.

On Tuesday, March 20, the Lady Warriors once again used their skills to defeat the pre-season ranked #7 Waverly Vikings, in a physical and rainy game.  The final score of the game was 1-0, the lone goal scored by Kelly Sanchez in the final two minutes of regulation.  Congratulations to the Lady Warriors, as they continue to work hard to meet their team goals, utilizing their theme for the year "Make it Happen".
