2014 "Cultivate Love in Our Youth" Gala

Lincoln Lutheran Gala – 2014

The spring of 2014 marks the 19th consecutive year friends and supporters of Lincoln Lutheran gathered for an evening of fellowship and shared commitment to Christian Education.  The Embassy Suites Regents Ball Room served as a wonderful venue for 422 guests to support the students and ministry of Lincoln Lutheran.  The evening included dinner, a silent and live auction, and live music from the Lincoln Lutheran Jazz Band and Senior Emmi Moll.

This year more than $131,000 was raised to support ministry to students.  Included in the total proceeds was just over $40,000 given specifically in support of a Bathroom Makeover Special Project.  With initial funds dedicated to the project, nearly $70,000 has been committed to renovating bathrooms.  Lincoln Lutheran students are currently engaged in a student led fundraising initiative with a goal to raise an additional $15,000 toward the project.  A generous donor has agreed to bridge the final gap of $10,000 to reach the overall goal of $95,000.  Praise God for his goodness!

Two special awards were presented at this year’s Gala.  Wil and (in memory of) June Tewes received the 2014 Founders Award.  Each year this award is given to those who have shown commitment to and steadfast support of the mission of Lincoln Lutheran.  Wil and June have been actively involved in the ministry of Lincoln Lutheran since the start of the high school in 1993.  Wil is still an active member of the Lutheran Education Foundation.  Kay and (in memory of) Bill Orr received the 2014 Shield of Faith Award.  This award is given annually to recognize an individual or family who exemplifies generous contributions of service, time and support that inspires others to a greater commitment and involvement in the Warrior ministry.  Kay and Bill were heavily involved in the development of the high school, including providing leadership for several capital fundraising efforts over the past 20 years.  Well done good and faithful servants!

The Warrior Ministry is grateful for the generous support of all those who attended and/or donated to support this event.  Thank you for your willingness to make an impact in the life of students!
