   Dr. Craig Volzke

Dr. Craig Volzke is a 1991 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High. He went on to attend both Lincoln Northeast High School and Wesleyan University where he played baseball and received a degree in Exercise Science. Craig continued his education by attending Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.  Dr. Volzke currently practices chiropractic medicine at CoreCare Chiropractic, which he owns and operates.  He has extensively studied posture, struction and biomechanics of the spine becoming a distinguished Fellow in Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP).

Craig is very active in ministry at Messiah Lutheran Church where he serves on the Elder Commission and as an 8th Grade Confirmation Leader, as well as a number of other committees. He has also been very active in men’s ministry and discipleship through Messiah’s Iron Man Ministries. In addition, Craig enjoys working with Full Count Ministries including annual mission trips to Nicaragua and Honduras using the great game of baseball to spread the Gospel to their communities.

Craig stated his education at Lincoln Lutheran helped prepare him for life in the following ways: “Growing up in a Christian home that valued a Christian education is what brought me to Lincoln Lutheran.  Lincoln Lutheran helped instill in my heart and lay the groundwork of the Christ-centered life I try to follow today.”

When asked what some of his favorite memories from Lincoln Lutheran were, Craig shared: “I absolutely loved the classmates, teachers and coaches I had at Lincoln Lutheran.  We had a pretty close class and we enjoyed basketball, track and our Friday bowling league after school.  One of my favorite memories was getting revenge on our arch rival at the time, Trinity Fremont in Basketball.  They used to warm up in their fancy warm-ups and blast the song “Basketball” by Kurtis Blow on their ghetto blaster before the game.  They barely beat us in the Roundball Tournament, but we destroyed them in the C-Club Tournament!”

When asked what advice he would share with current Lincoln Lutheran students, Craig replied:  “Middle school, high school and college can be some of the most challenging times we have during our walk with God.  The journey doesn’t end there either.  Like anything, if you want to be great at something, you have to put in the time and practice.  Build a relationship with Jesus by developing skills through studying His Word, discipling others and having daily quiet times.  All Jesus wants is our heart, give it to Him and see what happens!”

Craig and his wife Jana make their home in Lincoln, NE where they both enjoy watching their children participate in a variety of activities and spending family time together.  Craig and Jana are blessed with two children, Hadley (Grade 8) and Bailee (Grade 5).
