Volin Blackout a Success

During the December 19th boys and girls basketball games vs. Wahoo, both schools held a "blackout" to show their support for Beth Volin (parent to Wahoo alumn Ryan and LL students Luke and Rachael) who is battling advanced stage melanoma. The fans and supporters gathered under the theme "BEliveTH" a motto for Beth and her family as she goes through medical treatments. Beth was so very thankful for everyone's support and shared this letter of gratitude with the LL community:

The Blackout for Beth event on Tuesday evening, December 19, was a testament to the love, support, and generosity being shown to our family at this difficult time. The gym looked incredible with all the black clothing worn in support of my battle with melanoma. Thank you for sharing in the meal and fellowship, as well as supporting the bake sale and free throw shooting during the halftimes of the varsity games.  It took a small army of volunteers who devoted so much time and effort so that the event all went smoothly.

It was amazing. We appreciate the overwhelming amount of positive and encouraging words and continued prayers.  We hope that everyone was able to get a prayer reminder bracelet as a small thank you from us.  We have extra if you see us and want one, please just ask.  We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts and are so blessed to be warriors together! Merry CHRISTmas, From the Volins!
