HS VB Results 9/18

The JV and Varsity teams were in action last night at Wahoo Bishop Neumann.

The JV team won all 3 of their sets against the Cavaliers by scores of 25-14, 25-21, and 25-21.

The Varsity teams matches had 3 teams with a combined record of 37-1. Yet the Warriors took down 2 formerly undefeated opponents of Bishop Neumann and Fremont Bergan. In the 1st match the Warriors won the 1st set 25-21 with a lot of great rallies by both teams! In the 2nd set the Cavaliers withstood the pressure and took set 2 by a score of 25-21. So with the teams evenly matched in points, LL took a strong command in the second set with a nice lead and won the match 25-17.

Mariah Buss put down 31 kills in that match. Hope Leimbach put up some great sets to the Warrior attackers and had 33 set assists. Our serve receive was on point and also our defense withstood the solid attacks from Bishop Neumann as Buss had 17 digs, Leimbach 16 digs and Erin Williams 14 digs and Abi Wohlgemuth added 3 blocks.

In the second match of the night for the Varsity against Fremont Bergan, the Warriors pushed through the 1st set 25-17, but had a bit more challenging 2nd set. The Knights took a lead of 19-11 before the Warriors pushed back and eventually tied the score up 23, and held them off for 2 set points before eventually winning that set 28-26 for the win! The team had 6 service aces and 8 blocks in the 2nd set to win the match. Congrats Warriors!
