Girls Golf Coach Sonya Freese Article in The Journal Star

Earlier this week, in the Lincoln Journal Star, Ken Hambleton wrote a nice piece about Lincoln Lutheran girls golf coach Sonya Freese. You can find the whole article in the Tuesday, August 25, 2009 edition of the Journal Star or read it on their website.

New head coach Sonya Freese once qualified for the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships.

The graduate of Tri County and Doane College was slamming long drives since she was a kid. She stepped up her game as an assistant pro at Firethorn Golf Club the last seven years and made a run at the national long-drive championships after winning the regional title in 2005.

"I guess I better be teaching a bit about driving the ball long," said Freese, who takes over at Lutheran. "I think we're going to have a good team with four letterwinners back and some new people joining the team."
