Friday April 16th's chapel: The Power of Love

Friday, April 16th's chapel was given by senior Andrew Malan.  He spoke about the power of love.  Andrew wanted students to think about what love is, how it should be used and why God loves us.  He said that we should recognize why Christ died for us and what kind of a sacrifice that would have been like for a father, God the Father.  This chapel really hit on the verse John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  God loves us so much that he provides for us the necessary sacrifice.  He took our burden and our punishment and in return, we should reflect the love that was shown in this perfect sacrifice.

Proverbs 10:12 says, Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.  This verse should serve as a reminder to the power that God's love has.  It can cover any of your wrong-doings and sins.  So, the next time that you feel as though it is too tough to love your neighbor or be kind and respectful to others, remember the power of love and the attitude that you should reflect to others.
