What Is Scrip?
Scrip is just like cash for a specific establishment.
When you purchase scrip, you're purchasing gift certificates
and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to
purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials,
and with every purchase, you earn revenue for Lincoln Lutheran.
How scrip generates revenue
The Scrip Center acts
on behalf of churches, schools and other non profit organizations to
purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores,
and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front,
the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Lincoln Lutheran buys the
scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the
certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount
from two to fifteen percent or more is Lincoln Lutheran's revenue.
Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising"
Scrip is a popular
fundraiser because families don't have to sell anything. Organization
members produce revenue by making regular household purchases they would
make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be
purchased with scrip.
Scrip makes a great gift. All of the scrip we sell comes in prepaid
cards and gift certificates just like you would purchase from each
store. Order all of your Christmas gift cards through Lincoln Lutheran and save
yourself the time of going to each store individually.
We have many of the gift cards available for immediate purchase.
Russ's, Super Saver, Wal-Mart, Menard's, Walgreen's and Kohl's are a few of
the 25 retailers and restaurants that are always available
for immediate purchase. Over 100 other retailers are available via
special orders that arrive in five to ten days,
depending on the day of the week ordered.
Understanding the order form
Every retailer available is listed
on the order form, along with the percentage they discount the scrip
when we buy it and the denominations available. Denominations are only
available in those amounts listed. Just mark the quantity and total
amount of the scrip you are purchasing for each retailer.
How can I buy scrip?
Order forms are available in the scrip box outside the school office,in one of the church
boxes and at the bottom of this page. Place order & payment in the box at Lincoln Lutheran by 4:45 on Monday or in one
of the church boxes by the start of the last Sunday morning service. On the form you can indicate where
you would like to pickup your form. Choices include:
- Pickup at the Lincoln Lutheran office
- Sent home with your Trinity student
- Pickup at Faith or sent home with your Faith student
- Pickup at Immanuel
- Pickup at Christ from Patty Gunther
- Pickup at Trinity from the Taege's
- Pickup from Redeemer from he Maier's
Scrip Gift Certificates
Having trouble deciding which scrip to
buy for someone on your list? Scrip Gift Certificates are now available
in any denomination. Let that special someone pick out scrip for their
favorite places so it's the perfect gift every time.
Scrip for tuition
You may also designate on your Scrip order form a student whose tuition will be
offset by the money Lincoln Lutheran receives on the sale of the Scrip. This is a great
way to help a student attend Lincoln Lutheran that costs you absolutely nothing.
