Grandparents Day

On Friday September 17th, Lincoln Lutheran will have over a hundred guests on campus to celebrate Grandparents Day. This annual event continues to grow every year attracting Grandparents who have students in all grade levels to learn more about Lincoln Lutheran and spend time with their Grandchild in worship.

Our theme verse is from Psalm 24:6-"Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob."

The day will begin at 8:30 with rolls and coffee in our small gym. Then Mr. Matt Heibel and Mr. Scott Ernstmeyer will present on what is going on at Lincoln Lutheran. Our special guests will end their time with us as they worship with their Grandchildren at chapel. Our guest speaker will be Connie Deterding-one of our own Grandparents.

If you would like to join us, call 467-5404 or e-mail development@lincolnlutheran.org to make your reservation.

A New Website for the New School Year.

Welcome to the brand new Lincoln Lutheran school website. We talked to parents and students. We talked to faculty, our own and others. We researched current trends in school websites both secondary and post secondary. We listened to what you liked and disliked about the former site. You can see the results today.

Any website is about communication, and we wanted to be able to use our website to better communicate with everyone associated with the Lincoln Lutheran community: students, parents, association churches, alumni and supporters. Our old website served as a good starting point, and we learned a lot from it: what to do and what not to do.

A Lincoln Lutheran Face Lift

I liked our old logo…why did we change it?

I have heard this question more than a few times in the last couple of weeks. I recognize that change can be difficult, however I want to let you know that the change to our new Lincoln Lutheran Warrior Logo was part of an overall strategy to benefit the school in our marketing and fundraising efforts. We changed the logo for a number of reasons:

1) To Create a consistent brand image: You may not realize it, but we have been using a number of different logo icons in recent years – the crossed “L”s, the Spartan head and in some cases a cross with a sword. We had some materials that used multiple logos and some that didn’t include any authorized logos. The usage of the new logo consolidates the Lincoln Lutheran brand and provides us with a vehicle to move forward consistently.

Celebrating a Great Start!

As I sit down to write this quick note to our Warrior Family, I am truly humbled by the fact that we have exceeded our enrollment projections and are starting off the school year strong!  We currently have 382 full-time students on our campus.  I am also thoroughly excited to welcome five new teachers to our team!  We celebrate the outstanding teaching and support staff we have in place to serve the Lincoln Lutheran Family.

I hope to see you all at the Booster Bash on Friday beginning at 4:30 in the Main Gym.  What a great opportunity we have to celebrate that "WE ARE WARRIORS" in Christ - "One in Spirit and Purpose!"

Blessings on a truly great school year!

-Scott

Join the Warriors and “Celebrate Sportsmanship”

Lincoln Lutheran is excited to announce it was one of fourteen high schools in the State of Nebraska to receive a sportsmanship award for the 2009-10 school year, and the only school in the greater Lincoln area. The award, administered by the NSAA and sponsored by Farmer’s Insurance Group, was created to recognize member high schools who have established and follow a quality sportsmanship program within their athletic activities. Requirements included internal sportsmanship recognition programs and a school-wide audit of sportsmanship culture. We want to thank everyone for their support of our coaches, players and officials.

A presentation by a Farmer’s Insurance Group representative will take place at halftime of our first home football game vs. Syracuse, 7:00 p.m. September 3, at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
