MS Volleyball results from Saturday, Sept 18

On Saturday, Sept 18, the MS Volleyball A-Team traveled to Norris and played in the Norris Tournament.  The first opponent was Norris and Norris won both sets 12-25, 11-25. 

The second match was against Waverly.  The first set was lost 9-25; however, the Warriors fought back in the second set to win 25-23.  The third set went to Waverly 6-15.

L.L. Reserve and JV Volleyball results (Tues, Sept 14)

The L.L. Reserve volleyball team defeated Auburn on Tuesday, Sept 14 in three sets:  20-25, 25-18, 15-6.

The JV volleyball team was victorious over Auburn (25-21, 25-19) as it improved its record to 3-0 on the season.  The team was lead by Mikayla Higgins who had 11 service points with 8 of those being ace serves along with 5 kills.  Kayla Stock contributed 7 points with 6 ace serves and added 9 digs.  Payton Hedlund had 4 kills, Chelsea Naber had 6 digs, Hannah Oberle had 13 assists, and Nora Pomerenke had 3 ace blocks.

MS Volleyball results

On Monday, Sept 13, the 6th Grade Blue team played the North American Martyrs and won both games, 25-22 and 25-12.

The 6th Grade Yellow team was unable to compete due to the storm knocking out power at St. Johns.  This game will be rescheduled.

On Tuesday, Sept 14, the C-Team played Blessed Sacrament and lost two sets, 17-25 and 15-25.  However, the excitement that the girls showed in playing was contagious. 

Also on Tuesday, the B-Team traveled to Fremont to play Christ Lutheran St. John and Trinity Fremont.  The first match was against Christ Lutheran St. John and they won the first set 25-18, lost the second 19-25, and then the third set 8-15.  The second game was with Trinity, Fremont and they lost the first and second sets 17-25 and 19-25.

Scores don't always tell the full story.  The team played well.

L.L Cheerleaders at MS walk

The Lincoln Lutheran Cheerleaders brought their energy and encouragement to the teams of walkers at the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Walk last Sunday.  Members of the community mentioned how exciting it was to see the cheerleaders at this event.  They did an awesome job cheering on the teams at the walk.

Senior Taylor Katt named a "Believer and Achiever"

Senior Taylor Katt has been named a "Believer and Achiever" by the Nebraska Schools Activities Association (NSAA).  Schools from across Nebraska nominate senior students for this award.  Taylor is one of only 48 students to be selected as a winner and is only the second Lincoln Lutheran student to ever win this award.  He will be featured in an upcoming edition of the NSAA Bulletin.

L.L. Varsity Volleyball - Champions!

The Varsity Volleyball team is the Malcolm Invitational Champions!  The Lady Warriors completed the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 11 by defeating Elmwood-Murdock (25-13, 25-18), Fairbury (25-15,25-15) and Milford (25-13, 25-18).  The team is now at 7-0 going into a tough week of competition.  The reserve, JV, and Varsity teams have a home match Tuesday night against Auburn.
