Introduction To Business
This course will consist of business application projects that integrate spreadsheet, presentation, word processing, and database software. The focus will be on the general activities that a business is involved in from day to day. Students will also get an opportunity to create and run their own theoretical business. Research to complete projects will be done using books, business magazines, and the Internet.
Computer Applications (Summer Session)
A number of students at Lincoln Lutheran have a hard time fitting all desired courses into their 4 year plan. By offering a summer computer course, students will have more opportunities to fill their schedule with areas of high interest, including other electives or upper level computer courses. This class will waive the 1st computer requirement. We believe that this will open up more avenues for such courses as music and foreign language as well. Multimedia Applications
Students will learn to use HTML to produce web pages and to edit video footage digitally. Projects include creating and maintaining a 10-20 page educational website, producing a music video and creating a digital movie from new or existing footage. Developing proficiency with other technologies available at Lincoln Lutheran (such as scanners, digital and video cameras, video projectors…).
Computer Applications
Students will develop and refine their touch-typing skills, word processing, functions and formatting of letters, reports, and use of the internet. Students will learn advanced functions of a word processor, and skills with other common computer applications including spreadsheets and presentation software. Students will complete projects and exercises using these programs and integrate data between them.
Mr. Lloyd Sommerer
Lloyd Sommerer began teaching at Lincoln Lutheran in 2001. He graduated from college at Concordia, Seward with degrees in education and computer science. His first teaching position was in Washington D.C. where he taught seventh and eighth graders. Mr. Sommerer grew up on a small farm in Missouri where his family grew tobacco and raised beef cattle. His family now consists of his wife Lauren and three kittens: Ralph, Waldo & Emerson.
