"No Limits" Youth Board

The "No Limits Youth Empowerment Movement" is taking applications for a youth avisory board.  Check out the application at for dates of events, expectations, responsibilities and additional details.  All applications must be received by April 20. 

Financial Aid Workshop

Southeast Community College will host a free financial aid workshop for parents.  Attend one of two meetings - Apr. 21(7-9pm) or Apr. 23 (10am-12pm) at the Lincoln campus.  Bring in all your financial aid questions and get assistance filling out your FAFSA.

Attention Juniors!

Nebraska Wesleyan will host their "Jumpstart for Juniors" on April 22 from 11:30am-3pm for all Juniors and their parents.  Students will have the opportunity to learn about the liberal arts experience at NWU.  To reserve a spot, contact Carrie @ 465-2218.

"Addiction-Proof your Child"

Jeff Wolfsberg has been described as "one of the most influential drug educators and speakers regarding teens and substance abuse in the world."  He will present his talk called "Addiction-Proof your Child" at Lincoln North Star on Monday, March 28 at 7pm. 

Bryan LGH Exploration Day

Bryan LGH College of Health Sciences is hosting an Exploration Day on Saturday, March 26.  Registration is from 8:30-9am and the program begins promptly at 9:00am. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to faculty and students, take a tour of campus, and learn about careers in each of their programs.

Academy & Military Day

Lincoln Southwest High School will host an Academy & Military Information Day on Saturday, March 26 from 9am-2pm.  The day is for high school students and their parents to learn about the service academy nomination process and other opportunities for military service such as ROTC, the National Guard, Reserves, and enlisting.  The day will be hosted by Senator Johanns and Congressman Fortenberry. 

Scholarship Opportunity

The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is looking to celebrate motivated, passionate, college bound students.  Students may qualify for up to 25,000/year for four years!  Applicants must be enrolling in a 4-year college and majoring in one of the following:  Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or Design or are interested in a career in the automotive or related industries.  Application deadline is March 31.  Visit their website for details:

Kara Einspahr National Merit Scholarship Finalist

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that recognizes high school students on their PSAT and SAT test scores. Lincoln Lutheran’s very own Kara Einspahr has been selected as a finalist for this award and she is eligible to win $2,500.00 and bragging rights of being a National Merit Scholarship winner.

Volunteer Opportunity

HS Students are needed to volunteer as "companions" to hospice patients in the Lincoln area.  These patients are on hospice (6 months or less to live) and live either at home or in a nursing facility.  Volunteers are needed only 1-2 hours per month.  Groups of students can visit 1 patient if they wish.  All training provided free.  Call Ginger at 397-0990 if you are interested.
