Girls Golf Results for Week of 8/27

The Lincoln Lutheran girls golf team had two events last week.  Monday, facing hot weather conditions, they played in the Waverly Invite and finished 4th overall as a team.  The team was led by Logan Eschliman who shot a 99 to finish sixth overall.  Rachel Volin shot a 109 to medal in 13th place. 

Cross Country Results

The Warrior cross country team opened its season Thursday afternoon at Concordia University - Nebraska.  Seven girls and 15 boys competed, many on the team are first year runners.  Top finishers for the girls were Rachel Ziems, Celine Hansson, Katie Borcherding, Grace Soenksen, Rikke Lislebo, and Katrina Staab.  The top six finishers for the boys were Noah L'Heureux, Tanner Lebo, Jacob Meyer, Ryan Hlavity, Jack Croner, and Jack Rolland.  The next meet is Thursday, September 6th hosted by Pius at Pioneers' Park.

Softball Results

The Crete/LL varsity team beat Fairbury 7-3.  Congrats on a great season.

HS Girls Golf Results

The HS Girls Golf team played in the Waverly Invitational on Monday, 8/27.  The team finished 4th with Logan Eschliman getting a medal with 6th place and Rachael Volin getting a medal with a 13th place finish.  Congrats!

HS VB Results

The Varsity Warriors remain undefeated with a record of 4-0 after winning in 3 straight sets in their dual at Raymond Central with scores of 24-8, 25-12, and 25-7. Marriah Buss had 11 kills and 4 ace serves, Hope Leimbach had 29 set assists, 14 digs and 6 kills, and Erin Williams had 16 digs. The JV team went 2-0 with scores of 25-17 and 25-13. The Reserves team also won in 2 sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-17. Great night of volleyball Warriors! 

Warriors VB win at Bill Marshall VB Classic

The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors volleyball team went 2-0 out at the Bill Marshall Volleyball Classic on Saturday as part of the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. The triangular featured 3 of the top 5 Class C1 teams. The LL Warriors then defeated #5 ranked Omaha Concordia in 2 sets by scores of 25-16, 26-24, with a come from behind win in the second set. With the Warriors down 24-19, Erin Williams led the charge on the comeback with 7 straight serves!

Softball Team

The Lincoln Lutheran-Crete softball team faced tough competition this last weekend at the LPS Tournament at Doris Bair Softball Complex in Lincoln. The Cardinals finished the weekend 1-2 losing to Class A Southwest and Grand Island and shutting Elkorn South out 6-0 for the win.

The team will face Fairbury at home on Tuesday and then travel to Wahoo for a tournament on Saturday.

Girls Golf Results

The Girls Golf team won the Syracuse Invitational Thursday to start their season.  The girls had a team total of 425 to better Lincoln Christian by two strokes.  Grace Fahleson led the team with a 98 to finish tied 2nd overall. Logan Eschliman shot a 99 and finished 4th. Freshman Rachael Volin contributed to the team score shooting a 119 in her first varsity tournament.   
 

Softball results

The Lincoln Lutheran/Crete softball team won their home game opener over the Seward Bluejays 6-3. The "Battle of the Birds" was a close game until the Cardinals pulled ahead in the fourth inning. Several Cardinals had hits in the game including Lincoln Lutheran's Leah Jurgens. Kaitlyn Wendt also saw varsity time on the bases as a pinch runner. The win brings the Cardinals record to 5-1. The Cardinals next game will be in Lincoln tomorrow at the Doris Bair Softball Complex.

HS VB Results

Varsity Volleyball takes Waverly down in 5 sets! The Warriors took a solid 2 set lead 25-23, 25-17, before the Vikings battled back and won sets 3 & 4 by scores of 25-20, 25-19. That brought about the 5th set where the Warriors came from behind and won the set 15-11 to take the match! It was a nice way to start the season. The girls take on Concordia and GICC as part of the State Fair Bill Marshall Classic on Saturday in Grand Island. They have moved the matches to GICC due to the movement of their outdoor concerts in to the Heartland Event Center.
