Congrats to all MS BB Teams at C-Club Tournament

Congratulations to all of our MS teams that competed at the C-Club tournament.  All teams had a great weekend and represented Lincoln Lutheran very well. Team results are as listed:

A Girls: Champion,  A Boys: 4th, B Girls: 3rd, B Boys: Champion, C Girls: 3rd, C Boys: Consolation Champs, D Boys: 3rd

 

Middle School Lady Warriors Enjoy Success at C-Club

The Middle School A Team started strong and established a suffocating defense with wins over Concordia Omaha and West Point, outscoring their opponents 81-12. The championship game provided an opportunity to avenge a January Roundball Tournament loss to Christ, Norfolk. The Lady Warriors overcame a late deficit thanks in part to two clutch Hadley Volzke three-pointers to force overtime. In overtime, Leah Jurgens hit a free-throw with 2.8 seconds left to give the Warriors a 1 point victory and the championship.

MS Boys ‘B’ Team Captures C-Club Championship

The MS boys ‘B’ team capped a successful basketball season by winning the ‘B’ Division title at the C-Club tournament Feb 26-28.  In their first two games, the Warriors earned victories over St Paul Utica (43-16) and St John Battle Creek (46-20).  In the championship, the Warriors earned a thrilling, last-second 29-28 victory over Trinity Madison.  Scoring leaders over the three games were Carter Glenn with 30 points, Derek Brockhaus 18, Will Saunders 16 and Josh Puelz with 27, including 2 free throws with 1 second left in the championship game to give

Middle School Lady Warriors Split with LCS

The Warrior B Team (7-1) started fast and earned its seventh victory of the season by beating LCS 20-13. The B Team was led in scoring by Alayna Bergt and Sydney Wallace with 11 and 5 points respectively. The A Team ran into a buzz saw struggling to overcome an early deficit and eventually losing to LCS. The Warriors were led in scoring by Leah Jurgens with 7 points. The A Team falls to 5-4 on the season. Both teams are in action in Seward this weekend at the annual C-Club tournament.

MS Girls BB Win @ Seward

The Lady Warriors overcame injuries and illness to hold on for a 3 point win in Seward on Monday evening. Due to injuries, illness, and other
conflicts, the Warriors dressed just seven athletes, but were able to overcome adversity with a strong fourth quarter.  The Warriors were
led in scoring by Leah Jurgens with 11 and Charis Ovwigho with 8. The B Team improves to 6-1 with the win.

MS Boys 'B' Team BB Results from 2/5-2/6

MS ‘B’ Boys Claim 2nd at Lincoln Lutheran Tourney:  The MS boys ‘B’ team placed 2nd in the Lincoln Lutheran MS basketball tournament held last weekend.  In their first game, they earned a hard-fought 35-32 victory over Ashland-Greenwood.  In the championship game, the Warriors fell to Parkview Christian by a score of 23-32.  The Warriors were led in scoring by Carter Glenn and Josh Puelz, scoring 22 points and 16 points over the 2 games.

Centennial Conference BB All-Tournament Team

Congratulations to Logan Kreizel being named to the Boys First Team for the Centennial Conference BB All-Tournament Team and to Mackenzie Koepke for being named as Honorable Mention.

MS Girls BB Tops Raymond Central

The Lady Warriors overcame a tough shooting night by playing strong defense, defeating Raymond Central 17-1.  The Warriors were led in scoring by Alayna Bergt and Sydney Wallace with six and four points respectively.  The B Team improved to 5-1.

The A Team picked up where the B Team let off, holding Raymond Central to four field goals, winning in convincing fashion 47-9. The Warriors erupted for 33 second half points and were led by Leah Jurgens and Kayla Steinbauer who scored 12 and 10 points respectively.  The A Team stands at 5-3 overall.
