MS Lady Warriors Collect two victories at LCS

On a tough shooting night the Lady Warriors B and A Teams were able to sneak out two hard fought victories against their cross-town rivals Lincoln Christian. The B Team ran out to a nice lead in the first game of the night before a furious 4th quarter come back by the Crusaders. Raegan Holle hit a free throw with 3 seconds left to secure a 14-13 victory. The A Team also controlled much of the game before some late and timely Crusader shooting forced an overtime period. Hadley Volzke hit a jump shot with less than 10 seconds left to give the Warriors a 32-30 win.

Middle School Girls Teams Notch 6 Wins in 7 Days

The Middle School Girl's B-Team had a busy week starting off with a strong win against St. John Seward on Tuesday, January 31st. The Lady Warriors defeated the Foxes again in the first round of the Lincoln Lutheran Tournament on Friday before losing a close game to Wahoo Neumann in the Championship game on Saturday. The B-Team rebounded with a great victory over Raymond Central on Monday. The win helps improve their record to 7-3 on the season.

Congrats MS Boys "A" BB - Roundball Champions!

Congratulations to the MS boys ‘A’ team for winning the All-Lutheran Roundball basketball tournament this past weekend in Battle Creek.  The Warriors used stifling defense to bring home the title.  In their first two games, the Warriors defeated Trinity Grand Island 51-18 followed by Christ Norfolk 31-21.  In the championship game, the Warriors downed Immanuel Columbus 36-17.  Josh Puelz and Carter Glenn led the team in scoring for the weekend with 31 and 30 points.  Carter Glenn and Logan Young-Glenn finished 2nd in the 3-point shootout. 

MS Lady Warriors Notch 2 Wins at Fremont Bergan

The B Team got the night started off with a come from behind victory 23-21. After trailing 13-7 at the half, the Warriors dominated the first 3 minutes of the second half outscoring the Knights 10-0 to take a 4 point lead. The B Team was led in scoring by Hannah Kile and Raegan Holle with 10 and 5 points respectively. The B Team improved its record to 4-2 and is next in action at home vs. St John, Seward next Tuesday.

Congratulations to the Middle School Girls Basketball Teams!

7th Grade Boys BB Finish 1st and 2nd at Tournaments

The 7th Grade Boys' Basketball team have opened up their season with two strong appearances. They took home 2nd place at the season opening Lincoln Christian Tournament on 12/3 and then went on and took 1st in their bracket at the Weeping Water Tournament on 12/10. Congrats!

MS 8th Boys Basketball Results

The MS 8th grade boys opened their season with 2 wins this last Saturday Dec. 10, earning 1st place at the Weeping Water MS tournament.  In the first game versus Louisville, the Warriors were able to pull out close 37-33 victory.  In the second game, the Warriors jumped to an early lead and ended with a 40-14 victory against host Weeping Water.  Josh Puelz and Carter Glenn led the Warriors in scoring with 26 and 22 points, respectively, over the 2 games.  Congratulations 8th grade boys!!

Congrats to all MS BB Teams at C-Club Tournament

Congratulations to all of our MS teams that competed at the C-Club tournament.  All teams had a great weekend and represented Lincoln Lutheran very well. Team results are as listed:

A Girls: Champion,  A Boys: 4th, B Girls: 3rd, B Boys: Champion, C Girls: 3rd, C Boys: Consolation Champs, D Boys: 3rd

 

Middle School Lady Warriors Enjoy Success at C-Club

The Middle School A Team started strong and established a suffocating defense with wins over Concordia Omaha and West Point, outscoring their opponents 81-12. The championship game provided an opportunity to avenge a January Roundball Tournament loss to Christ, Norfolk. The Lady Warriors overcame a late deficit thanks in part to two clutch Hadley Volzke three-pointers to force overtime. In overtime, Leah Jurgens hit a free-throw with 2.8 seconds left to give the Warriors a 1 point victory and the championship.
