A Preview of Boys Golf

The boys golf season started on Wednesday, March 2nd.  Now while there was still some snow on the ground, the golfers were able to golf on the range for the first time all year.  There was a turnout of about 16 boys, 6 of who are seniors, along with many returning players.  There are four returning golfers that have some sort of varsity experience from last year and a majority of the team has played in some sort of golf event, such as a JV meet.

Boys Golf Team Shoots Well, Makes State

On Monday May, 17th the high school boys golf team arrived at Columbus for districts with one goal in mind, to make state.  At the end of the day it was a close one and it came down to one stroke.  Luckily that one stroke was in Lincoln Lutheran's favor as they beat out HTRS.  With this win over HTRS they made state!  This will be the third year in a row that the team has made state.

The five players that will be representing Lincoln Lutheran in state will be their two senior leaders Ethan Walz who shot a 76 at Districts and Caleb Orth who shot an 81.  The two juniors on the team are Eli Dull who shot a 90 and Keaton Klein who shot a 149.  The lone underclassmen was Mitchell Volk who shot a 93.  Congatulations to these five players and the whole boys golf team for making state.

Catching Up on Boys Golf

The Lincoln Lutheran boys golf team has been involved in many meets, both varstity and junior varsity, over the past weeks.  The latest meet was a dual against Lincoln Christian at HiMark golf course, Lincoln Christian's home golf course.  It was a cold and rainy meet and the scores suffered because of this.  However, the Warriors were still able to pull out the victory as Ethan Walz finished in 1st place with a 43 and Caleb Orth finished 2nd with a 44.

There are very few meets left this year for the Warrior golf team who looks to make state for the third straight year.  The boys varsity team had their most important meet of the year on May 17th which is districts and if all goes well then hopefully the team can return to state which will be on May 25th and May 26th.
