Last Game for HS VB 2016

The Varsity volleyball team ended their season last night with a loss to Malcolm. The Warriors came out strong and put up a battle, but the undefeated Clippers prevailed winning the first set 25-23, and then took control of the next 2 sets. The Warriors ended their season with an 18-17 record.

Varsity VB Results 10/27

The Varsity Volleyball team but up a battle and took 1 set away from each of the Class B teams they competed against Thursday night, but came up just short. The Warriors won the first set against Beatrice 25-19, but dropped sets 2 and 3 by scores of 23-25, and 25-19. In the #5 ranked Norris match, the girls dropped set one, 25-18, but bounced back with a win in the second set 25-23, before falling to the Titans 15-25 in the final set. Josie Puelz led in total kills for the night with 14, and Hope Leimbach added 50 set assists and Becca Ziems added 24 digs for the evening.

JV & Reserve Results 10/25

The Fr/Reserves and JV volleyball teams finished their season last night with a dual match at Raymond Central. The Fr./Reserves team lost in 2, but put up a great battle, while the JV team won both sets over the Mustangs. Great job as nice improvements were made throughout the season!

Lutheran VB wins Triangular

LL VB wins the Triangular on Tuesday, 10/25.  They beat Raymond Central and David City both in two sets. Amber LeGrande recorded 13 kills and 4 aces. Kayla Ernstmeyer & Ellie L'Heureux both had 10 kills. Becca Ziems had 19 digs with Kayla Ernstmeyer adding 5 blocks.  Hope Leimbach recorded 40 assists, 10 kills, 4 aces and 15 digs in the matches.

Res/JV Results Triangular

Both the Reserves and JV VB teams made a strong showing last night, each team beating Beatrice in 3 sets. The both fell to Norris's teams in 2 sets. 

Res/Fresh VB Result @ Seward

The FR/Reserves team did great out at the Seward Invite on Saturday, taking 2nd place!! The team defeated Heartland and then York to advance to the Championship where they lost to Hastings St. Cecilia, but put up a good battle!

LL HS VB Lincoln Christian Invite

LL defeated Thayer Central in two sets 25-10, 25-13. Lincoln Christian survived a scare from LL 22-25, 27-25 25-20 in the semifinals, LL was two points from knocking off the Crusaders in the second set of the semi-finals. LL finished third with a 25-18, 25-23 win over Bergan. In LL's three matches Saturday, Josie Puelz & Amber LeGrande led the net play with 24 and 21 kills, respectively, while setter Hope Leimbach had 64 assists to go with 38 digs and seven ace serves. 

HS Volleyball Results 10/18

Volleyball Results from 10/18: Lincoln Lutheran defeated Hastings St. Cecilia 25--18, 21-25, 25-23; Hastings St. Cecilia defeated Columbus Scotus 19-25, 25-15, 25-11; Columbus Scotus defeated Lincoln Lutheran 25-10, 20-25, 25-16. In the LL vs HSC match: Amber LeGrande led in kills with 10, Josie Puelz and Hope Leimbach added 8 kills, Leimbach added 27 set assists and 3 aces, Rebecca Ziems had 19 digs, and Rachel Ziems added 3 ace serves.

VB Results 10/11

Congrats to the Varsity Volleyball team as they were successful in defeating DC Aquinas last night in all 3 sets, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16.. The team was led by Amber LeGrande and Kayla Ernstmeyer in kills, Kayla and Ellie L'Heureux in blocks, Becca Ziems in digs, Hope Leimbach in set assists and ace serves, along with Lexie Kreizel contributing in ace serves. The JV team had some close scores but came up just short in their match against the Monarchs.The Fr.Reserves team also continues to show signs of improvement even though they did not win their match. 

HS VB Conference Tourney Results

The Centennial Conference brought about a lot of very high level competition on Saturday, as this is one of the toughest Conferences in the state of Nebraska! The Warriors faced Lincoln Christian, and after a great start, the Crusaders came back in the end to win both sets. In the next match the Warriors fell a little flat and dropped the match against Columbus Scotus. However, the team bounced back with more energy and focus and battled to beat the #5 seed Archbishop Bergan in 2 sets, so the day ended on a nice win!
