The Student Council Acts as Angels

This year the Student Council continued their tradition of the Angel Tree. Students were allowed to take an angel and buy a Christmas present for women and children served by the Friendship Home. The Angel Tree lasted for 2 weeks. The turnout of gifts was great!

Student Council Update

During November, the Student Council continued the tradition of selling turkeys. Each turkey cost a dollar and the proceeds went to the Lutheran Food Pantry, and nearly $200 was raised. Miss Bockelman and the Student Council had a competition of who could sell the most turkeys. Miss B won and now Student Council owes her a pedicure.

Thankful Turkeys on Sale for $1!

The Student Council is once again selling Thankful Turkeys for just $1. Help the Lutheran Food Pantry by purchasing a paper turkey and writing on it those things for which you are thankful. All turkeys will go on display in the east entrance hallway, so make sure to return your turkey to Miss Bockelman or a Student Council member.  Turkeys will be on sale from November 7-November 18 before and after school and at lunch.  All proceeds will go to the Lutheran Food Pantry in Lincoln.

Student Council Finishes Another Year at L.L.

The Lincoln Lutheran Student Council continuously looks for new ways to make a positive impact on the school through their work. They are an activity that doesn't always receive very much attention for what they do. The Student Council has met every Thursday morning since the beginning of the year and they continue to serve as a way of communication between the student body and the faculty/administration. The kids involved are able to grow closer together as they try to help improve this school.

Happenings in Student Council

The Student Council has been very busy lately with National Lutheran Schools Week. On Sunday the 6th the kickoff started off the week at Lincoln Lutheran. StuCo members helped with a scavenger hunt for elementary age students. The scavenger hunt was an adventure around the school that gave the kids a chance to learn about Lincoln Lutheran in a fun way. Student Council has also been busy with planning of activities throughout National Lutheran Schools Week.

What’s Happening in Student Council?

Do you ever wonder what Student Council is up to? Your elected Student Council members wake up early every Thursday morning and have a meeting. These meetings usually involve lots of event planning, such as National Lutheran Schools Week coming up in March. They also organize fundraisers. Other things happening in Student Council are a new addition - Junior Rees Klintworth was added to the council after another member stepped down. Rees has been welcomed as a new member and is looking forward to contributing his ideas.

Angel Tree project to benefit Friendship Home

The Student Council has once again set up their Angel Tree project.  Gifts that are donated will go to the Friendship Home. The Friendship Home is a place in Lincoln that serves women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence. Many of these women and children have to leave everything they own behind, so there is a great opportunity to provide these families with various gifts.
