Alumna Esther Soenksen named player of the week

Having already topped her season goal total from 2014, sophomore Esther Soenksen has ridden a hot start to 2015 to GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week recognition, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. It’s the first career weekly award for the former Lincoln Lutheran High School standout.

Jennifer Bockerman Art Gallery Show Aug. 7, 7-10 pm at The TugBoat Gallery

LL Art Teacher, Jennifer Bockerman, will be in a two-person art show this Friday, Aug. 7, from 7-10 pm at The TugBoat Gallery. MS. Bockerman would love to see lots of LL students, teacher and parents at the show. Below is a brief description of Ms. Bockerman's contrabution to the art show. Mixed Media artist, Jennifer Bockerman, explores the iconic symbols of the school house. Examining the intersection of education and religion, Bockerman's work proposes that education has become a cultural object of worship.

LL Grads Receive CUNE Academic Awards

Twenty-four graduates received academic honors at this year's Concordia University Honors Reception. Of those receiving honors, four were Lincoln Lutheran Alumni, Class of 2011. Please join us in congratulating:  Kara Einspahr, Meredith Hein, Adrienne Langewisch, and Dane Stahr. We are pleased to see our graduates excelling in their post high school endeavors, and our prayers go with them for their continued success.

A current resident of Omaha, NE and 1975 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High, John went on to attend Lincoln Southeast High School and Valparaiso University.  John is currently the President of Owen Industries, Inc. in Omaha, NE.

2014 Distinguished Young Alumni Award

  Katie (Moore) Lyon

Katie Lyon is a 2000 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran High School. When asked how her education at Lincoln Lutheran prepared her for life, Katie said: “The teachers were one of a kind.  They were caring mentors who guided my learning and development of a strong moral and faith compass.”

2013 Distinguished Alumni Award - Stacy Leimbach

Stacy Leimbach

Our 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award winner is Stacy Leimbach; a Lincoln native and 1989 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High. Stacy went on to attend Concordia University-Nebraska receiving her degree in Elementary Education. She is currently teaching Kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School-Lincoln Nebraska. Stacy is also a part of the Warrior volleyball coaching staff, drawing upon her years of experience as a Hall of Fame setter at CUNE. Stacy has served as a teacher for 12 years and has coached volleyball for 10 years.

Mark Duitsman is a 1998 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran High School. When asked how his education at Lincoln Lutheran prepared him for what he is doing now, Mark said: “The education I received at Lincoln Lutheran, and more importantly the teachers and coaches who delivered that education, instilled principles and a foundation that have helped me spiritually, personally, and  professionally. I frequently find myself calling upon the advice and lessons learned from the staff.”
