All-American Soccer Honors

Lincoln Lutheran is proud to announce that Kevin Soenksen and Taylor Katt have been named Lutheran High School All-American soccer players for the 2011 season. Because of Nebraska playing high school soccer in the spring, Kevin and Taylor (class of 2011) were not honored until this December. Kevin Soenksen, a first team Lutheran High School All-American is the son of Phil and Linda Soenksen, and currently plays soccer at Concordia University-Seward.

2011 Distinguished Alumni Award - Ron Kuehn

Ron Kuehn

Our 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award winner is Ron Kuehn; a Lincoln native and 1972 graduate of Lincoln Lutheran Junior High. Ron went on to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, receiving his degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Actuarial Science. He currently serves as the Second Vice President  & Associate Actuary for Ameritas.

L.L. Alumni at Concordia

Concordia University in Seward has announced its term honors list for the second semester of the 2010-11 academic year.  The top 25 percent of undergraduate students who complete a least 12 credit hours and complie a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale qualify for the honors list.

2009 Graduate Earns Award

Chris Soenksen, a 2009 L.L. Graduate, has earned the 2011 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year from the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA).  Chris is a sophomore at Iowa Western Community College.

Five Alumni Planning for Military Careers

Each spring, the Air Force, Naval and Army Detachments march for the UNL Chancellor at the Chancellor's Review at Cook Pavilion on the UNL campus.  The Chancellor is the main speaker and awards are presented to the cadets and midshipmen in the different detachments.

L.L. 2009 Grad - Gabelman Scholar

The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at UNL named Grace Farley, a sophomore Plant Biology major, as the first Gabelman Scholar.  Gabelman Scholars work closely with Horticulture faculty conducting genetic and plant breeding research in the areas of vegetable crops and/or woody ornamentals over their four years of undergraduate study - renewable each year.  Students work part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer. 

Grace Farley is a 2009 Graduate of Lincoln Lutheran.  Congratulations Grace!
