Janacek Family

Lincoln Lutheran is pleased to again welcome Joel Janecek to the Lincoln Lutheran community.  Janecek will serve as the new Director of Enrollment, a position newly created as part of the schools strategic planning process.

In addition to this position, as previously announced, Janecek will also serve as Lincoln Lutheran’s new Head Coach for High School Track & Field.

Joel comes to Lincoln Lutheran from Dubuque, IA where he served as a track coach for Wahlert Catholic High School and coached several state champions and state medal winners as well as a girls' team that routinely finished in the top three at the Iowa State Track & Field Meet. Additionally, Joel was a part owner and trainer for MERGE Performance Institute, a health and wellness facility and taught Personal Empowerment and Career Services classes at the University of Dubuque (UD).  Prior to his coaching duties at Wahlert Catholic, he coached track at the University, where he also assisted in recruiting efforts.

Janecek has previous experience in admissions and enrollment from his time at UD, several years in advising at the University of Texas–San Antonio, and as a successful recruiter and admissions counselor at Kaplan University in Des Moines, IA.

Janecek, a graduate of Gering High School, was a four-time All-American at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. While a Loper, he also set the school record in the 110 high hurdles, is still a member of several record-holding relay teams, and was a member of four Conference Championship teams. Janecek earned his MS in Communications from Iowa State University.

Joel and his wife Dr. Torri Janecek, an OB/Gyn recently joining Bryan have two children, Atley (10) and Adler (5). We are blessed to add the Janecek's to the Lincoln Lutheran family.
