Updated Lincoln DHHM
- The new Lincoln-Lancaster County DHM allows us to have attendance up to 50%
- The new DHM does not start until Saturday (1/23/21)for Lincoln Lutheran.
- The number of spectators we will be able to allow in for games will be dependent on the size of the event and the number of teams playing. Updated plans will continue to be communicated weekly as they will likely change for each event.
- In addition, attendance will no longer be limited to household members or grandparents. However, this does not mean each game will be completely open to everyone because we will need to stay under 50%.

It's Official - We are accepting enrollments for the 2021-2022 school year! Currently enrolled students as well as families who have reached out to us expressing their interest in attending next year, will be receiving a mailing in the next few days which will include 2021-2022 tuition rates, instructions on enrolling, as well as deadlines for tuition assistance.

For Thursday's Music Concerts, we do not have limitations on who can attend. We do ask you to remain masked the entire time you are in the building. If you are NOT attending both concerts, please exit as soon as the concert is over - we can't have groups gathering to meet with students. Thank you!

We have slowly been moving towards "digital" programs. The reason for the change is in part due to issues with handing things to people and COVID. This also saves us A LOT of personnel time, paper and copy costs over the course of the year. Anyone with a smart phone can scan a QR code. The newest OS will automatically open your QR code reader if you focus your camera on the QR code. Any QR code reader should be able to read our codes. If you need a reliable QR code reader the top rated with iOS and Android is Kaspersky QR Scanner in the App store or QR Scanner in Google Play. Please note, the programs are saved as a .pdf - if you phone isn't able to open a .pdf, you will have issues. Please look for an App that will read .pdfs (most Android and iPhones have this feature built in). We ask that you keep the few copies of programs we will have available for those who don't have a smart phone. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at frontdesk@lincolnlutheran.org

On Sunday, May 24, at 8:20 p.m. (20:20 military time), we encourage everyone in Lincoln to step outside or open their windows to cheer this year’s seniors. High school seniors will then be able to walk into their neighborhoods wearing their caps and gowns and hear the celebrations across the city.

Sports Camp Update: Along with the Governor's announcement earlier this week, the NSAA has provided guidelines as well.
- As of June 1, weightroom use will be allowed. There will still be a limit of 10 people in a group. We are working on a plan that will include several groups working but in different spaces and not having interaction with each other. Those plans will be communicated when finalized. We are looking forward to having students back in here working out as soon as we are able and are committed to doing this in a safe manner.
- All summer athletic camps, clinics, and open gyms for any sport are still prohibited. We are working with coaches on being prepared and having contingency plans if we are given the ok to have athletic camps and open gyms again. Ultimately, we must follow the guidelines of the NSAA.
Here is the information from the NSAA:
NSAA Update
As a result of the Governor’s announcement on May 11, beginning June 1st NSAA member schools are permitted to open weight rooms for voluntary strength and conditioning sessions.
Prioritizing the health and safety of all students and staff must remain the focus of each NSAA member school.
These requirements must be followed when conducting voluntary strength and conditioning sessions:
Maintain social distance by being 6 feet apart
Follow gathering guidelines of groups of 10 or less students
Groups of 10 or less must be pre-determined
Once groups determined, students may not switch from one group to another
Interaction between groups shall be avoided
Sessions can only include weightlifting, running, and exercises designed to promote physical fitness.
Sport-specific drills are not permitted, and sport-specific equipment may not be used.
Implement diligent and effective cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces following the guidance of the CDC
It is the responsibility of each NSAA member school to comply with the above requirements.
Additionally, NSAA member school sponsored camps, clinics and open gyms are prohibited in any sport at this time.
Should the conditions warrant, these requirements will be adjusted.
Any further official updates will be posted on the NSAA website and the NSAA social media platforms.

Dear Parents, Students, and School Personnel,
A little more than two weeks ago, your Lutheran Schools of Lincoln administrators met to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on our schools for the first time. Your teachers and staff quickly responded with learning resources for your child, full of hope that we would return to campus in early April. Sadly, the face-to-face reunion we anticipated is delayed yet again.
Wednesday night Governor Ricketts issued a broad and statewide Directed Health Measure (DHM) directing schools across Nebraska to not return to a normal status in the current school year. Instead, schools should continue to operate for the remainder of the year without students in their buildings. This statewide DHM is certainly a disappointment, but it does clarify the path we are on for the rest of the school year.
Additional information will be sent through email

Dear Parents, Students, and School Personnel,
Thank you for your ongoing support of your children and our school ministry during this ever-evolving situation in our community and nation. The Lutheran Schools of Lincoln administrators met again today in an effort to share a unified communication with our school families.
Lincoln and Lancaster County are now under a Directive Health Measure (DHM) until at least May 6. The Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner has strongly encouraged schools to plan to offer only distance learning instruction for the remainder of the school year. The NDE can only suggest a course of action for schools. Right now we must abide by the DHM for our local community.
With a DHM in place, we know for certain we are unable to return to campus before May 7 unless renewed, extended or terminated by community leaders. We continue to hold out hope we will be able to return to our campuses, even if only briefly. It is our desire to allow families, students, and faculty time to see one another and celebrate the conclusion of a successful year together.
Please check email for additional information.

Starting Monday 3/30, the school's office will be open ONLY on Monday and Thursday from 10 am -2 pm. We will be available via email every weekday. If you need to connect with someone in the office or need to pick up something from a teacher other than during those days and times, you will have to make an appointment with that person. These hours will remain in effect until conditions change. Thank you for understanding.

Congratulations to the following student-athletes for being awarded the NSAA's Academic All-State for Winter sports. These student athlete's maintained a 3.75 GPA and made significant contributions to their activity's varsity team. Seth Stowell - Speech; Luke Volin & Tanner Lebo - Boys Basketball; Kayla Steinbauer & Layne Poppe - Girls Basketball; Riley Dawe - Wrestling

Dear Parents, Students, and School Personnel,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this ever-evolving situation in our community and nation. The Lutheran Schools of Lincoln administrators met today so we could share a unified communication with our school families.
While our initial hope was to have schools reopen March 30, we will follow recommendations from our government and health officials and remain closed for in-person instruction on our campuses until we learn that it is safe for students to return.
Please check email for additional information.

For now, the school office will be open from 10 am - 2 pm Mon - Fri. This is the plan, but if the situation were to change will will send out another notification. We will ask that if you are feeling sick at all, please do NOT come into the school. SCRIP will run normally, but we ask again, if you aren't feeling well, please do not come in.

Dear Parents, Students, and School Personnel,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented situation in our community and nation. Yesterday, our Lutheran Schools of Lincoln administrators spent time together assessing how to best continue the service you have come to expect from your schools. As part of that communication we emphasized this is a fluid situation and changes may be necessary.
Yesterday afternoon, we received additional information that impacts our greater Lutheran Schools of Lincoln community. Based on this new information, we believe it is in the best interest of our children, families, and staff to close our schools for the next two weeks from March 16-27th.
As we continue to collect information and move forward together, we encourage you to be transparent with your child’s school if you are monitoring any health situations in your home. Please watch for additional information!

If your 6-8th grade student could use some extra help in school, the Community Outreach Team is providing tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:00. Coach Sue Ziegler picked up her 400th career victory when Lincoln Lutheran went 2-0 in pool play Thursday at the Centennial Conference Tournament in Hastings. "I'm inspired every day by the players and my assistant coaches. I feel very blessed to be a part of that culture on a daily basis," Ziegler said. "It keeps me going every day. I've had some great student-athletes throughout the years that I feel very fortunate to be a part of whether it be through teaching or coach. Many (coaching) assistants that have turned into long-term relationships. Relationships over the years that have left many memories for many years to come." "Our word for the day was smart. To play smart and stay in the moment and do our best," Ziegler said. "I kept reminding of them of that when we were down. Don't worry about win or lose, stay in the moment and stay focused."
