What is the purpose of Standardized Testing?

Standardized tests are educational tools used by Lincoln Lutheran administrators, educators, and students to enhance a student's individual learning process. They also serve to indicate strengths and weaknesses and illustrate how your student compares to other students on a national level. Postsecondary institutions also use standardized test scores, typically the ACT or SAT, for admission purposes as well as merit-based financial aid.

What Tests Will My Student Be Taking at Lincoln Lutheran?

  • 6th thru 10th grades take MAP tests in the Spring and the Fall.

  • 11th grade students may opt to take the PSAT test that is given at Lincoln Lutheran each Fall. This is the test that qualifies students for the National Merit Scholarship program.

  • 11th and 12th grade students register to take the ACT and/or SAT assessments on their own.

Juniors and Seniors Should Consider Registering to Take the ACT

Visit ACT Student to set up an account and register to take the test. 

Things to Remember:

  • Have a debit or credit card ready for payment. 

  • Remember your username and password because you will use the same account to send scores or take the test again.

  • Take advantage of your free score reports. If you are even remotely considering UNL, choose that as one of your free reports. UNL will not accept the ACT scores on your transcript so it saves you having to pay to send them later. Same is true with the NCAA or NAIA if you are considering playing college sports. Most other Nebraska colleges will accept the scores that are on your transcript.

Preparing for the ACT:

There are a multitude of ACT test prep programs available. These range from free on-line programs to in-person programs that can be more expensive. The success of these programs varies with each student. Below are links to some of the options available:
