Coach Rich Olson Stepping Down (March 2018)

After 32 seasons of being a head coach, Rich Olson, Lincoln Lutheran Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach, is stepping away from coaching to pursue other adventures. 

Coach Olson has enjoyed a celebrated career. He served 20 years as a teacher and head coach at Millard South, 6 years teaching and head coach at Lincoln Northeast High and 6 years serving as Head Girls Basketball coach at Lincoln Lutheran. Click "view for more"

Coach Olson has experienced many career highs in his 32 seasons. He made 20 Nebraska State Tournament appearances, won four State Titles and had three Runner-up finishes. In 2012, Olson was inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Most notably for Lincoln Lutheran, in 2014 Olson coached the Lady Warriors to their only Nebraska State Girls’ Basketball Tournament appearance in school history.  He finishes his career with an official record of 506-244.
