Special Events

kids

Grandparents Day, the Blue and Gold Gala, the Warrior Classic Golf Tournament, the Coming Home alumni event or any of our other special functions and events only succeed with the strong support of parents, alumni, and friends of Lincoln Lutheran. The volunteer efforts, donations, and participation of all of these groups are vital parts of everything we do.

Coming Home, a Homecoming Tailgate and Alumni Celebration

Friday, September 15, 2023, the Annual Homecoming Tailgate Party took place prior to the football game against the Mustangs from Concordia Omaha. Over 300 of our Warrior family members and friends enjoyed a meal, provided by HyVee. As part of this annual event, we honored two alumni.

Bob Schmieding - Chafik Barbar

Bob Schmieding, a 1966 Jr. High graduate, has owned and operated his own concrete company, Schmieding Concrete for 40 years. Bob serves the community and his church as a worship leader at Holy Savior Church and Southlake Village Care Center. Him and his wife, Sally, also sponsor several children oversees. We are proud to call Mr. Robert Schmieding our 2023 Distinguished Alumni.

Chafik Barbar, a 2001 High School graduate, has experience developing software for the agriculture industry and is a successful entrepreneur as the founder and CEO of Marble Technologies, a company that creates intelligent automation for food processing. Chafik and his family give back to the community by providing logistical and emotional support for Syrian refugees in Lincoln and Omaha. We are honored to announce Mr. Chafik Barbar as our 2023 Distinguished Young Alumni.

“The annual Lincoln Lutheran gala is always a great time to come together to celebrate and support Christian education, while having fun with good friends. This year’s event was even bigger and better than ever, and we were blessed to be a part of it”

Matt and Anne Blankenbiller.

Scott Ernstmeyer presented the 2024 Shield of Faith Award to Rev. Charles and Brenda Schmidt and the 2024 Founder's Award to Lyle and Sheila Ziems. These two awards recognize the many ways that both couples have enhanced the ministry of Lincoln Lutheran and Lutheran Education.

“I have attended the Gala for five years. I am amazed and humbled each year as over 400 guests attend and make a difference in the lives of young men and women today, tomorrow and forever. The event is an evening of fun and fellowship for the Warrior family in generous support for Christ-centered education and scholarships.”

Lloyd Wagnitz
