The enrollment of Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School has grown from 110 students in 1995 to 300 students in grades 6-12. Lincoln Lutheran serves non-Lutheran students as well as Lutheran.

Research indicates small schools often differentiate from their larger school counterparts by providing students with more personal attention, attaining higher graduation rates, and encouraging a higher level of participation by students in a variety of activities. Lincoln Lutheran’s small school environment, anchored in Christian values, has been credited for the growth of the school’s enrollment.

Lincoln Lutheran provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and graduates academically strong students as evidenced by seniors consistently scoring above the State and National averages on the ACT. Nearly 100% of students take this important test. 98% of graduates from Lincoln Lutheran continue their education at a post-secondary institution.

As part of the school's mission to prepare young people for college and life, Lincoln Lutheran offers excellent extracurricular opportunities --from fine arts to athletics. Vocal and instrumental groups earn high ratings at district and state music competitions. In Lincoln Lutheran's short history, its athletic teams have won over a dozen state championships and over forty district championships.

Leaders of Trinity, Redeemer and Calvary Lutheran Churches created the Lincoln Lutheran School Association in the late 1950’s. The mission of the newly formed Association was to create a separate Junior High School to address the lack of space faced by the existing K – 8 schools operated by Calvary and Trinity. In the fall of 1962, the doors of the new Lincoln Lutheran grade 7-9 Junior High were opened at 1100 North 56th Street.

By 1993, the Association had grown to six churches with three elementary schools and the Junior High. A task force was formed to study the feasibility of expanding Lincoln Lutheran to a full high school. In the fall of 1995, a 10th grade was added, and Lincoln Lutheran officially became a Junior-Senior High School. The first senior class graduated in 1998, with 28 graduates. Sixth grade was added to our school for the 2005-2006 school year, making Lincoln Lutheran a 6th – 12th grade Middle and High School. The Association currently consists of eight member churches with four elementary schools as well as the Middle and High School.

Philosophy of Education

It is the philosophy of Lincoln Lutheran Middle/High School that the education provided its students will be, above all else, Christ-centered and Christian-based. Christian education is an outgrowth of the Great Commission, which Christ gave to His church. Each child is a gift from God, and should be educated in a loving and disciplined Christian environment.

The Christian school serves as a partner with parents, assisting them in the Christian education of their children --a task recognized as the parent’s primary responsibility. The standard of measurement in defining the success of Lincoln Lutheran will be that the Word of God, and the doctrines, teachings, and practices of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod as drawn from that Word are taught correctly.

Lincoln Lutheran's goal is to prepare students for both eternal life and life in this world by providing an an excellent, Christ-centered college preparatory education, ensuring that students are ready for their post-high school education and the rest of their lives.
