Sue Ziegler has announced that she is retiring as Lincoln Lutheran’s head volleyball coach.
Coach Ziegler led the Warriors to six state championships (2004, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024) in fifteen state tournament appearances. Coach Ziegler amassed over 600 career wins. She was inducted to the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame in 2020 and was named the AVCA National High School volleyball coach of the year in 2021. Coach Ziegler has served as head coach for 28 years.
We thank Coach Ziegler for her leadership of the volleyball program and wish her well in retirement. Coach Ziegler built a volleyball program centered on Christian leadership. The Lincoln Lutheran volleyball program attained a high level of excellence in her tenure. Her leadership brought the program to a level of notoriety in Nebraska and across the country. We are grateful for the high standard of excellence that Coach Ziegler, her coaching staffs, and current and past players have set.
A search for a new head volleyball coach will begin immediately.
